The Best Brownies

By

The combination of the soft chewy brownie topped with the fudge-like frosting is what sets these babies apart from some of the other from-scratch recipes out there. If brownies don’t typically last long in your house (they were gone by the end of the day at my house), you’ll definitely want to double the recipe and use a 9×13 inch pan instead of the 8×8 that this recipe calls for. Enjoy! Fudgey (is that a word?), soft, and downright delicious are a few words used to describe the perfect brownie!

Preparation

Step 1

Pre-heat your oven to 350.
Grease and flour an 8x8 pan.
In a saucepan or in the microwave, melt 1/2 cup butter. If you melt the butter in the microwave, it usually takes about a minute.
In a large bowl, pour in the melted butter, stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Add in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
Pour into greased and floured pan and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes.
While brownies are baking, make the frosting. In your mixer bowl, combine butter, cocoa powder, and honey. Then add in confectioners' sugar. Beat for a few minutes, or until the mixture is the consistency of frosting.
When the brownies come out of the oven, let them cool for 10 minutes or so, then frost. I needed to put the frosting in my microwave for about 15 seconds so that it was easily spreadable.
