Shrimp Wrapped in Snow Peas

Ingredients
- 20 large cooked shrimp
- 1/3 cup good quality teriyaki sauce (find one you like)
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 2 garlic cloves, pressed
- 1/2 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice powder (ethnic section or spice section of your grocery store)
- 20 large snow peas, stringed
- 1 teaspoon oriental sesame oil (ethnic section)
- 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
- 20 toothpicks

Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl or ziplock bag, combine the first 5 ingredients. You can do this one day ahead of time for best flavor.
In a medium pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add the snow peas and blanch; only about 1 minute (seriously). Drain and rinse with cold water. Lay them out on a clean tea towel and blot till nearly dry.
While peas are still warm, wrap around the shrimp and skewer with a toothpick. It will look like you wrapped the shrimp around it’s middle the way a man wraps a towel around his waist, LOL.
Drizzle with sesame oil (don’t use too much!) sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve on a platter. Elegant and tasty!
