Raspberry Sauce for Waffles (or Crepes) 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups water
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 (3-ounce) package raspberry-flavored gelatin mix
  • 2 cups frozen raspberries
  • 8 fresh hot waffles

Preparation

Step 1

Combine water, granulated sugar, corn syrup and cornstarch in a large saucepan.


Cook sugar mixture, stirring continually, over medium heat until thickened, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat.


Add the gelatin mix to the sugar mixture and stir until gelatin mix is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Cool slightly.


Add raspberries to the gelatin mixture and mix gently.


Place hot waffles on individual serving plates. Spoon berry sauce over waffles. Serve immediately.
