Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 3/4 cup milk

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425F. Stir flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar together in bowl.
Add melted butter and milk. Stir To make a soft ball. Press evenly in 2 greased 8" round layer pans. Bake in oven for about 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes. Turn out onto racks to cool.
