Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 tablespoons yeast
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 10 cups whole wheat flour
  • 6 cups white flour

Preparation

Step 1

Mix warm water and honey. Sprinkle yeast over and let stand 10 minutes.

In saucepan combine milk, oil, honey and salt. Heat to lukewarm, do not scald.

Pour milk mixture and yeast into large mixing bowl, adding 10 cups whole wheat flour one cup at a time mixing well after each addition.

Add white flour to make a soft dough. Let rise until doubled.

Shape into loaves, let rise until doubled. Bake in 400F oven for 40 minutes.
