Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup light Karo syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Step 1

Beat egg whites until stiff. Cook sugar, Karo, water, and salt until it spins a thread. Pour 1/4 into egg whites and beat with mixer, continue adding 1/4 cup of hot syrup until all is gone. Add vanilla. Use a spoon and beat with nuts until mixture loes it's gloss. Pour into prepared pan (greased with butter) or drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper.
