  • juice from 4 to 6 large POM Wonderful Pomegranates,* or 2 cups POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • squeeze of lime juice (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare fresh pomegranate juice.*
Combine the water and sugar in a small saucepan. Simmer gently until the sugar is dissolved.
Pour this sugar syrup into the pomegranate juice.
Taste and adjust the acidity with a squeeze of lime, if needed.
Pour the mixture into a bowl and freeze.
After about 1 hour, stir the mixture so that it doesn’t separate into juice and syrup.
Once the mixture is frozen, chop it up with a knife or ice pick, transfer the ice to a smaller container, and store tightly covered in the freezer until time to serve.

Note
* For 2 cups of juice, cut 4 to 6 large POM Wonderful Pomegranates in half and juice them with a citrus reamer or juicer. Pour the mixture through a cheesecloth-lined strainer or sieve. Set the juice aside.
