Ingredients

  • Makes 3-4 dozen
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Assorted preserves or jams (strawberry, raspberry, apricot)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.

1. With pastry cutter or 2 knives, cut butter into flour until it is coarse crumbs.

2. In a seperate bowl, mix egg yolk and sour cream. Blend yolk mixture into flour.

3. Divide doug into 4 portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 10" circle. Using a dinner plate, trim dough to a perfect circle.

4. Spread jam over pastry. Cut circle into 8 pieces(cut like a pizza pie cut) * Use about 2-3 tablespoons of jam per round*

5. Roll each piece towards the point of each cut. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Note: you can also sprinkle coconut, cinnamon sugar or nuts over jam before rolling.
