Preparation

Step 1

Cut bread into cubes. Place in bowl and let dry out. Take fork and turn over cubes at various time so that all cubes dry out.

Chop and mince onions & celery. Melt margarine in fry pan. Add onions, celery and cook until yellow, stirring occasionally. Place bread cubes into a large pan or large bowl, and stir in the onion and celery mix.
(Beat eggs together in small dish and pour over stuffing mix.)
Add salt, pepper, and optional spices if desired. Add chicken broth a little at a time so that stuffing is wet, but not soggy. Stir mixture with forks to mix cubes well. Taste to see if it is seasoned as you wish it to be.

Spray bowl or bowls that you will be baking stuffing in. Transfer stuffing into bowl. Cover and bake at 350 for 1.5 hr. Take a fork and insert fork down into middle of stuffing dish, making a few holes so that the center of the dish will also get heated, not just the sides. When stuffing is close to getting done, check to see that top is a little brown. If it is not, remove covering and let brown.
