Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Step 1

Line a jelly roll pan or large, rimmed cookie sheet with foil. Put the crackers (saltine crackers) in a single layer on the pan. In a saucepan, melt 3 sticks butter and 1 and 1/2 cups brown sugar over medium-high heat until it's melted and blended well. Bring to a boil and boil about 2 minutes without stirring. (watch carefully, it will burn)

Spread the butter/sugar mixture over the crackers. Bake 5 minutes at 400 degrees. After removing from the oven, sprinkle with about 2 cups chocolate chips. (I use milk chocolate) Let them stand on hot candy for 5 minutes, then spread the chocolate evenly over the top.

Cool and refrigerate til set. Break into pieces.
