Ingredients

  • 1 Pkg Active Dry Yeast, Mixed Into 1/4 Cup Warm Water
  • 5 Cups Flour, All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 3/4 Cups Shorting Or Butter Chilled
  • 2 cups Buttermilk, Chilled

Preparation

Step 1

Combine in a large bowl - flour,baking powder, baking soda, sugar

and salt. Whisk them well or sift
Work the butter into small bits -
Stir in the yeast mixture and the buttermilk

Turn dough unto a flour surface and mix well - Knead
Roll them out and cut them with a cutter , make them into small balls

and flatten them out with your hand

Place them on a greased baking sheet - cover with a towel and let

them rise to double size. 30 to 45 minutes

Bake them in hot 450 Oven for 15 min, or until brown

You can put shredded cheese in them and make cheese biscuits -

put some more on top and bake
