- 3 Tbsp oil or melted vegan butter

- 2 tsp coarse sea salt or kosher salt for sprinkling
- For the baking soda wash:
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- For the cornstarch (vegan egg) wash:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- For the Spicy mustard dip:
- 1/2 cup raw cashews, soaked overnight
- 1/4 cup or more almond milk
- 1 to 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 to 3 tsp hot sauce
- 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast
- salt and pepper if needed
