Ingredients
- 2 pounds hamburger
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 14 ounce cans tomato juice
- 1 14 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 2 15 ounce cans Ranch Style Beans
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 teaspoon flour
- Salt, as desired
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Lightly brown hamburger. Sprinkle on the flour. Cook for 5 minutes before adding the onions. Cook until the onions are somewhat soft, about 12 minutes over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar. Pour in the tomato juice and tomatoes. Add the Ranch Style Beans and water.
In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, cayenne, and flour. Stir well to blend. Mix into chili. Stir well and cook, bubbling slowly, for 2 hours. Cover loosely. If the chili is thin, uncover pot and allow it to cook down.
Taste and determine if either salt or pepper are needed.
