  • Cake:
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all purp flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chopped, peeled apples
  • Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup half and half
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Grease 8" sq. pan.

In large bowl, mix brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Stir in apples and then spread batter into pan.

Bake 25 - 35 minutes. Meanwhile, in saucepan, heat sauce ingredients over medium heat until butter is melted and sauce is hot.

Serve warm sauce over warm cake.
