Ingredients

  • 1 1/2

    lbs chicken pieces, skinned and trimmed of excess fat

  • 1

    cup onion, chopped

  • 1

    cup carrot, chopped

  • 1

    cup mushrooms, sliced

  • 1

    cup celery, sliced thin

  • 1

    tsp salt

  • 2

    Tbls curry powder

  • 1/4

    tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 1/2

    cups cooked garbonzo beans

  • 1 1/2

    cups tomato sauce

  • 1/2

    cup raisins

  • 1

    cup water

  • 1/2

    cup dry white wine

Directions

Heat 3 Tbls of butter or olive oil in a large pot. Add onions, carrots, mushrooms, celery, salt, curry powder and cayenne pepper, stir and cook 1 minute. Add chicken pieces and stir and saute for 5 minutes. Add beans, sauce, raisins and water. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 40 minutes. Stir in wine and serve.
