Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl mix together 1 pkg. of dry yeast, 1/4 cup warm water and 1 tsp. sugar and let set til foamy. Set aside in a large bowl mix together 1 egg (room temp.). 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 cup of warm milk. Mix well. Add the yeast mixture and gradually work in 3 1/2 cups of Better for Bread Flour mixing well. Turn dough out on a floured surface to rest 10 minutes. Clean bowl and grease with oil or butter. Knead the dough and gently work in the other 1/2 cup of flour (as needed) about 5 minutes or until dough is smooth and silky. Place back in bowl, cover and let rise to double in size. When doubled, punch dough down and cut off small pieces (with scissors)about the size of a small orange. Dust your hands with flour and shape rolls. Place side by side in a greased 9 x 13 pan (should make 12 rolls) press rolls down in the pan, cover and let rise again til doubled in size, about 30-35 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

To reheat individual rolls microwave about 10 seconds and enjoy.
