Scrumptious Butterscotch Sauce

Makes 1 1/2 cups

Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar (packed)
• 1/2 cup dairy half & half
• 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

In 1 1/2-qt. casserole stir together cornstarch and brown sugar. Stir in half & half, corn syrup and salt. Add butter. Cover. Microwave at High (10) 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 Minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until thickened and sugar is dissolved.
Add vanilla and stir until smooth and well blended. Serve warm or cold.
