Ingredients

  • 5 lb bag whole wheat challah
  • 1 Tbs and 2 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbs and 2 1/4 tsp dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups honey
  • 2 1/2 cup olive oil(or part canola)
  • 5 cups warm water
  • 10 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

In one bowl stir together flour,salt and yeast until well mixed. In another bowl stir together the honey,oliveoil,water and eggs. Pour the liquid mixture into the flour mixture and stir until it forms a dough. Knead until smooth and elastic. place in a lightly greased bowl and turn the dough over a few times to oil the surface. Cover and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size. At this point take dough and make a bracha. Punch down,knead some more to remove some of the bubbles. Divide into equal sizes to form loaves. Place in greased pans and let rise until doubled about 30 min.
Preheat oven to 350. Bake until golden brown about 30 min.
