Ingredients

  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 T butter, softened
  • 2-3 T milk
  • Food coloring

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325.
In large bowl beat sugar and butter until well mixed. Stir in flour and cornstarch and mix well. If necessary, refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
Shape dough into 3/4 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 10-13 minutes or until edges are very light brown. Immediately remove cookies from sheet and cool completely.
In small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients. Add just enough milk to get desired glaze consistency. Divide glaze into bowls and tint with food coloring. Spoon glaze over cookies and allow to set before storing.
