Preparation
Step 1
Instructions
Put ingredients in a bowl and mix until everything is well combined.
Fill a ½ cup measuring cup with meat. Empty to a 5 inch round ramekin/lid. Press the meat in with the bottom of the measuring cup. Quickly invert the ramekin with meat onto a parchment paper square, tapping a few times to release (moistening the ramekin with spray bottle helps the patties to release). Continue with the above method until all meat is gone, putting a piece of parchment or wax paper between each patty. Refrigerate or freeze until ready to use, wrapping tightly with plastic wrap. To cook the beef patty in the skillet: Heat skillet with a drizzle of oil over medium high, place the patty and cook for 2-3 minutes per side depending on preferred doneness. While the patty is cooking, toast the buns, spread mayonnaise, ketchup or mustard, put a piece of green leaf lettuce, onion and tomato on the bottom bun. A minute before the patty is done cooking, place a slice of cheese and allow it to melt. Transfer on top of the prepared burger buns with the condiments and top with the top part of the bun. To cook on the grill:
Clean the grill with the grill brush, heat the coals and allow the flames to die down. Place patties on the cooking surface over the coals and cook for 2-3 minutes per side depending on preferred doneness.
