Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 envelope McCormick Italian Style Spaghetti sauce mix (reserve 1 TB for crust)
  • 1 pkg (box) Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix
  • 1 cup warm water (105*-115*)
  • 12 ounce (1.5 cup) cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 4 ounces (1 cup) mozzarella

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 400*
2. Grease 14” pizza pan or 15”x10” jelly roll pan.
3. Brown ground beef; drain.
4. Stir in tomato sauce, ¼ cup water and seasoning mix (minus 1 TB); Simmer while preparing crust.
5. In large bowl, dissolve yeast from roll mix in warm water.
6. Add reserved seasoning and flour; blend well.
7. Press dough in greased pan, forming high ridge around the edge.
8. Spread cottage cheese over dough.
9. Spoon meat mixture over cottage cheese and sprinkle Parmesan cheese over.
10. Bake on low rack 25-35 minutes until deep golden brown.
11. Sprinkle with mozzarella.
12. Bake 2-3 minutes to melt cheese.
13. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

**Tip learned the hard way: If your pizza pan is the type with holes in it, be sure to line the outside of it with aluminum foil. The cheese has a tendency to bubble over the top and, if your pan has holes in it, the bottom of your oven will be a mess by the time you're done!
