  • 8 strips bacon
  • 1 lb. ground chuck beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 thin slices onion
  • 4 thin slices tomato

Step 1

On paper or microwave ovenproof plate place double thickness of paper towel. Layer bacon (4 strips per layer) and separate layers by single paper towel. Cover. Microwave at High (10) 3 to 4 Minutes, just until partially cooked. Meanwhile, divide ground beef into 8 equal parts; shape into thin patties. Sprinkle patties with salt and pepper.
Place one onion and one tomato slice over each of 4 patties; cover with remaining 4 patties and. press together edges to seal well.
Wrap 2 partially-cooked bacon slices around to encircle the edges of each hamburger patty. Fasten with toothpicks. Place patties in 8-in. square dish. Cover, with wax paper. Microwave at High (10) 8 to 9 Minutes. Serve on buttered hamburger buns if desired.
