Ingredients

  • 1 uncooked pie shell
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 10 thin slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp flour tortillas
  • ground nutmeg
  • cayenne pepper
  • black pepper
  • 2 tbs diced onions

Preparation

Step 1

1 Bake pie shell at 400° for 10 minutes.
2 Fry bacon until crisp. Saute onions.
3 Overlap bacon and cheese to cover bottom of pie crust. Add onion.
4 In a separate bowl, combine eggs, cream, milk, flour and pinch of nutmeg, a few grains of cayenne & black pepper. Let shell and custard mixture stand at room temperature.
5 Pour custard over bacon. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes then 325° for 30 minutes.

Hint: Can freeze - to reheat bake at 250° for 30 minutes.
