Ingredients

  • 1/3 C. all-purpose flour
  • 6 beef cube steaks (1 1/2#)
  • 1 T vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced & separated into rings
  • 3 C. water, divided
  • 1 envelope brown gravy mix
  • 1 envelope mushroom gravy mix
  • 1 envelope onion gravy mix
  • Hot mashed potatoes or cooked noodles

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place flour in large resealable plastic bag. Add the steaks & shake until coated.

2. In a skillet, cook steaks in oil until lightly browned. Transfer to slow cooker.

3. Add onion and 2 C. water. Cover and cook on low 8 hours.

4. In a bowl, whisk together gravy mixes with remaining 1 C. water. Add to slow cooker; cook 30 minutes longer.

5. Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.
