Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground round
  • 1/4 tsp finely chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp fine, dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp beef flavored bouillon granules
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 tsp margarine
  • 1 (8oz) pkg sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  • 1 (14.5oz ) can no salt added beef broth
  • 2 Tsp low sodium worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

Step 1

Combine forst 8 ingredients in a bowl; stir well. Divide into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 3/4 inch thick patty. Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium high heat until hot. Add patties; cook 5 minutes on each side. Drain and pat dry with paper towels. Set patties adise, and keep warm. Wipe drippings from skillet. Coat skillet with cooking spay; add margarine. Place skillet over medium high heat until margarine melts. Add mushrooms and onions; saute until tender. Add broth and worcestershire sauce; cook 5 minutes. Return patties to skillet. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from liquid with a slotted spoon; place on a platter; set aside, and keep warm. Combine water and cornstarch; stir well. Add cornstarch mixture to broth mixture in skillet. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly, or until thickened. Spoon over patties.
