Ingredients
- 1 package (4 oz) Bakers German Sweet Chocolate
- 5 T butter
- 1 package (3 oz) cream cheese
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup plus 1 T flour
- 1 1/2 t vanilla
- 1/2 t Baking powder
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 t almond extract

Preparation
Step 1
Melt chocolate and butter over low heat
Stir constantly and cool
Cream remaining butter with cream cheese until softened
Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, creaming until light and fluffy
Stir in 1 egg, 1 T flour, 1/2 t vanilla until blended
Beat remaining eggs until fluffy and light in color
Gradually add remaining 3/4 cup sugar and beat until thickened
Fold in baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup flour
Blend in cooled chocolate mixture
Stir nuts, almond extract and remaining 1 t vanilla
Measure 1 cup chocolate batter
Set aside
Spread remaining chocolate batter in greased 9" square pan
Pour cesse mixture over the top
Drop measured chocolate batter from tablespoon on to the cheese mixture
Swirl mixtures together with a spatula just to marble
Bake in a moderate oven, 350 degrees, for 30-40 minutes
Cool
Cut into bars
Cover and refrigerate
