  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • powdered sugar, for topping cookies
  • oil, heated

Step 1

DIRECTIONS:

beat eggs and mix all ingredients, but powdered sugar & oil

Heat oil in a pot or deep skillet (you will need it about 3 inches deep of oil).  Heat timbale/rosette iron for about 3 min in oil.  Then dip in the batter, not all the way, you don’t want to to come up over the top of the iron or you’ll not be able to get your cookie off.   Fry in the oil for about 20-30 seconds (until golden brown).  Sometimes it comes off the iron in the oil and I let it finish and remove with a fork,and sometimes I use the back of a butter knife to slip it off when it’s done.  Place on a plate covered in a paper towel to catch the excess oil then top with powdered sugar!!  DON’T skip that part…that’s where the cookies get their sweetness.
