Summertime Fruit Trifle

Use large glass salad bowl. Like a banana pudding but with summer fruit.

Ingredients
- 2 c peaches, fresh or frozen, thawed
- 1/2 c blueberries, fresh or frozen, thawed
- 1/3 c sugar
- 1/4 c all purpose flour 1 1/2 c milk
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tbs margarine
- 1 tsp orange peel, finely shredded
- 1/2 c orange juice
- 1 (3oz) pkg ladyfingers, split
- 1 tbs cream sherry or orange juice
- 2 c sliced strawberries
- 1 c cool whip, thawed
- top with additional fresh blueberries or strawberries

Preparation
Step 1
Combine sugar and flour in saucepan. Stir in milk and egg. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in margarine, orange peel, and 1/2 c orange juice. Cool thoroughly, covered.
To assemble: Cut ladyfingers in half crosswise. Arrange half in bowl. Sprinkle with 1 tbs sherry or oj. Top with 1/2 peaches 1 c strawberries, and 1/4 c blueberries. Pour 1/2 of custard mix over fruit. Repeat layers. Top with cool whip. Chill until serving. Garnish with additional fruit.
