- 4 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 sticks butter, room temp
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla

Step 1
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt into medium bowl. Beat butter and sugar in mixer until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla, mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, blending well.
Separate dough into two halves, flatten each into a disk and wrap in plastic. Chill at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Let 1 disk of dough soften at room temp. Roll out between sheets of parchment to 1/4 inch thickness. Chill rolled dough 30 minutes. Cut out cookies, transfer to parchment-lined baking sheets, and chill in freezer 15 minutes.
Scraps of dough can be re-rolled and chilled. Repeat with remaining dough.
Bake 15-18 minutes. Let cool on wire racks, then decorate with royal icing.
