Marjorie's Pretzel Salad

I love this salad -- it takes a while to make but it's worth it. It's a interesting combination of ingredients.

Ingredients
- 2 2/3 c Coarsely chopped pretzel sticks
- 1 1/2 cubes of Butter(salted)
- 1 1/4 c Sugar
- 1 lg pkg. Frozen Strawberries
- 3/4 lg container of Cool Whip
- 1 lg. pkg. Strawberry Jello
- 2 c Pineapple Juice

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Crush pretzels to measure 2 2/3 cups.
Melt butter and mix with crushed pretzels. Place in 9x13 casserole pan and bake for 10 minutes. Cream sugar and cream cheese. Completely cool pan before spreading cream cheese/sugar mixture on top of baked pretzels. Spread cool whip over cream cheese and chill. Heat pineapple juice to a boil and add jello. Add frozen strawberries and allow to chill until just before jello is set -- it needs to be somewhat pourable. Pour over cream cheese and cool whip and let set. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
