Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

• 3 cups flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 1/2 t baking powder
• 1/2 t salt
• 1 cup butter
• 1 egg
• 3 T light cream
• 1 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400.
In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter. Add egg, cream, vanilla and blend well. Refrigerate dough if desired. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, sprinkle if desired and bake for 5-8 minutes or until light brown. Cool.

May decorate with egg yolks mixed with food coloring to make "paints" before baking as well.
