Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup margarine or butter
• 2/3 cup dark brwon
• 2/3 cup sugar
• 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
• 1 Tablespoon cider vinegar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 1/4 cups unbleached flour
• 3 cups chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream together the margarine, sugars, corn syrup, and vinegar. Beat in the eggs, then beat in the vanilla, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir in flour and chocolate chips.

Drop dough by the tablespoonful onto baking sheets. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes until they are just set. The centers may still look a bit underdone. Remove them from the oven and transfer to a rack to cool.
