Ingredients
- 2 8 ounce packages shredded green cabbage
- 1 16 ounce jar sauerkraut -- drained
- MEAT MIXTURE
- 2 pounds ground meat
- 2 eggs
- 4 Tablespoons ketchup
- Salt -- pepper and onion powder
- SAUCE
- 1 large onion -- diced
- 2 15 ounce cans tomato sauce
- 2 3/4 cups water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Combine meat mixture ingredients. Set aside.
In a saucepan, saute onion until translucent. Add remaining sauce ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat. Simmer a few minutes.
In a 9 x 13 inch pan, layer ingredients: 1 bag cabbage, meat mixture, sauerkraut, remaining bag of cabbage.
Pour sauce over layers and bake covered for 2 1/2 hours.
