Syrian Style Rice with Peas and Meat

Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic -- chopped
- 1 onion -- chopped
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil -- divided
- 2 cups uncooked rice
- Salt -- to taste
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons allspice -- divided
- 16 ounces frozen peas
- 4 cups water
- 1 pound ground beef

Preparation
Step 1
Saute garlic and onions in 2 T. oil. Then add rice and saute, stirring constantly. Add salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon allspice. Continue stirring for about 5 minutes. Add peas and water. Bring to a boil and cover and simmer until water is fully absorbed, about 20 minutes.
In a pan, brown meat in 1T. oil. Add a dash of salt and remaining 1 teaspoon allspice. Break meat up into small pieces until fully cooked. Add to rice and mix well.
