Ingredients
- Batter:
- 1 c sugar
- 1/2 c butter (softened)
- 1 egg
- 2 oz melted unsweeted chocolate
- 1/2 c buttermilk
- 1 t vanilla
- 1-3/4 c flour
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 c chopped nuts, optional
- Frosting:
- 2 squares unsweeted chocolate
- 2 T butter
- 3 T water
- 2 About 2 c powdered sugar

Step 1
Heat over to 400 degrees. Mix sugar, butter, egg, chocolate, milk and vanilla. Stir flour, baking soda, salt & nuts if using.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake until almost no indentation remains when touched, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Cool.
For frosting; heat chocolate and butter over low heat, stir in water and powdered sugar. Frost cookies and enjoy!
