  • 1 box Near East Wild Rice Mix
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 3 Tablespoons margarine
  • 3 medium onions -- sliced into thin
  • Wedges
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup craisins

Step 1

Combine rice mix, brown rice and double the amount of water listed on the box. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Meanwhile, melt the margarine in a skilled over medium high heat. Add onions and brown sugar. Cook 6 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and onions are soft and translucent. Reduce heat to low. Slowly cook onions until they are caramelized, about 25 minutes. Stir in Craisins. Fold into rice mixture.
