  • 500 ml(1 bunch)fresh basil leaves,washed,patted dry,and stems removed
  • a pinch of salt + salt,to taste
  • 2 tsp Pernod,sambuca,or ouzo
  • 1 1/2 cups(300 ml) olive oil

Step 1

Combine the basil leaves,pinch of salt,and Pernod,sambuca,or ouzo in blender.With the blender running,gradually add the oil in a slow steady stream until it is incorporated and the puree is smooth.Comtinue to blend another min.This will make it very lustrous.Remove the oil from the blender and place it in a clean empty squirt bottle.
