Ingredients

  • 5 cups water
  • 1 pound green beans
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 red onions -- cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Bring water to a boil in large saucepan; add beans. Cook 6 minutes until crisp tender. Drain and keep warm.

Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat. Add onion; saute 8 minutes or until browned. Add broth; cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in vinegar and remaining ingredients. Stir in beans; cover and cook 2 minutes.
