Ingredients

  • Brownies:
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups sugar.
  • 1/3 cup cocoa.
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • dash of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Brownies:
Melt margarine in saucepan.
Add sugar & cocoa until well blended.
Add eggs, vanilla, flour, salt, and nuts, beat all ingredients well.
Pour mixture into well-greased 9x13-inch pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.

Frosting:
Mix sugar, unsweetened chocolate, margarine, milk, and dash of salt in a saucepan.
Stir frosting and pour onto brownies.
Sprinkle top with 1/2 cup chopped nuts of your choosing and set pan back in oven just to toast nuts.
