Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, finely
  • chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons crushed red
  • pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive or cooking oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed continued
  • Vi cup unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Place undrained pineapple in blend­er container. Cover and blend till finely chopped. In medium saucepan stir to­gether pineapple and remaining ingre­dients. Cook and stir just till mixture boils; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, about 5 minutes or till sauce reaches desired consistency. Makes 1% cups.
