Ingredients
- 10 TBS unsalted butter
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter, room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups dry roasted peanuts
- 1 1/4 cups chopped dark chocolate (6 oz.)

Preheat oven to 350°
Melt the butter over medium heat, swirling occasionally. Heat until the butter browns, about 5 min. Cool slightly.
Whisk flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
Beat the eggs until pale yellow, about 2 min. Gradually add the sugar while beating, then add the butter and vanilla and mix evenly. Add the peanut butter and mix .
Continue mixing on slow speed and add the dry ingredients in 2 additions, mixing just until it comes together.
Fold in the peanuts and chocolate pieces.
Divide the dough into 3 portions. Shape with slightly wet hands into logs about 2 inches wide by 15 inches long. Bake until set and brown around the edges, 25 to 30 minutes. Lower the oven temperature 325°. Cool logs for 10 minutes.
Transfer logs to a cutting board. Use long serrated knife to cut crosswise at a 45° angle about ½ inch thick. Bake until crisp, about 8 minutes, flip and bake 8 more minutes. Cool.
