Ingredients

  • 1 loaf bread
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp sage or to taste
  • 1 can chicken noodle soup
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • Water

Step 1

Break bread slices into pieces to dry out the day before making dressing. Can also put in seasonings, chopped onion and celery in large bowl with bread pieces the night before stuffing turkey.

Add soup, eggs, and enough water to make dressing moist, when ready to stuff turkey.

Thoroughly wash out turkey cavity and neck area. Place turkey in cooking bag inside roaster and then spoon dressing into each area tucking the skin in to close cavities so the dressing won't fall out. If you have extra dressing, place in crook of legs of turkey inside turkey cooking bag.

Baste turkey breast with melted margarine, close cooking bag and place in oven.
