Ingredients

  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 4 eggs (save 2 of the whites for
  • filling)
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Step 1


Cream Crisco and sugar, add remaining ingredients and mix together well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake 350 deg. 8-10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and let cool - then fill with following filling.
2 egg whites (that you reserved)
2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. milk
4 Tbsp. flour
Mix above - add 1/2 c. Crisco and 4 c. powdered sugar. Cream well. Spread filling between two cookies. Wrap each completed cookie in Saran Wrap and store in air-tight container.
