  • 5 slices day old bread
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. moist raisins
  • 3 c. milk,scalded
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Toast bread and spread with butter while hot. Arrange toast, in buttered baking pan 10x6 in. Sprinkle with raisins. Stir salt and all but 2 Tbsp. sugar into eggs. Add milk - stir well. Pour over toast and let stand 10 minutes. Push toast down occasionally so it soaks up most of milk. Mix cinnamon with 2 Tbsp. sugar. Sprinkle over top and bake 350 deg. oven 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold.
