Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup quick type oatmeal
  • 1-14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 2/3 cup flake coconut, packed
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream margarine, brown sugar, and salt together.

Blend in flour and oatmeal until particles are fine. Press 2/3 of this mixture into greased 9 x 13 inch cake pan.

Heat condensed milk in saucepan (do not boil) and stir in butterscotch chips, coconut, and pecans. Stir until chips are melted. Spread mixture evenly over oatmeal mixture in pan.

Sprinkle remaining 1/3 oatmeal mixture on top and pack tightly.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Chill and cut into squares.
