Ingredients
- 7-8 medium size tart apples
- 1 Tbsp. flour - blended with 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Step 1
Make pastry and roll out for double crust pie. Line 9 in. pie pan with pastry. Cut pared, cored apples into uniform slices about 1/4 inch thick. Arrange half the apples over pastry, then sprinkle with 1/2 the flour mixture. Add remaining apples and sprinkle with remainder of flour-sugar mixture and spice. Dot top with butter and sprinkle with lemon juice. Brush edges of bottom crust with water. Put on top crust; gash for steam vents seal and flute. Bake 450 deg. 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 deg. and bake another 35 minutes or until apples are well cooked.
