Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate -- cut up
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup almond toffee pieces
- 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and 8 by 8 by 2 inch pan. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter and unsweetened chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Using wooden spoon, lightly beat mixture until combined. Don't overbeat or brownies will rise too high, then fall. Stir in flour.
Combine toffee pieces and chocolate chips. Set aside 1/4 cup of the mixture for later.
Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining toffee-chocolate mixture over top of batter.
Bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle evenly with reserved toffee-chocolate mixture. Cool in pan on wire rack.
