Ingredients
- Brownies:
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tbs baking cocoa
- 2 sticks margarine
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Quick Set Frosting:
- 1/4 cup milk
- 4 tbs baking cocoa
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 lb confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2/3 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation
Step 1
Brownies:
In large bowl, combine sugar and flour and set aside.
In heavy saucepan, combine baking cocoa, margarine and water and bring just to boil. Pour over sugar and flour mixture.
Add buttermilk, eggs, soda, and vanilla, mixing thoroughly.
Pour into lightly greased and floured jelly roll pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Frosting: (Make during last 10 minutes of baking time for brownies)
Combine baking cocoa and confectioners sugar until well blended in heavy saucepan. Add milk and cut up stick of margarine. Bring to a boil and add vanilla.
Pour over hot brownies and sprinkle chopped nuts over top.
