Mad Monk

The Mad Monk is certainly one of the more interesting hot cocktails and it's not going to be for everyone.

There is a lot going on in this recipe. Not only do you get coffee with hot chocolate, but then we add the nutty Frangelico and the sweet, coolness of peppermint schnapps. It has a kick, that's for sure, and the mix of flavors is an experience. Give it a try, it may surprise you.

Ingredients

1 ounce Frangelico hazelnut liqueur
1 ounce peppermint schnapps
Hot chocolate
Hot coffee
Whipped cream for garnish (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Pour the liqueurs into a mug or Irish coffee glass.
Fill with equal parts of hot chocolate and coffee.
Stir well.
Optionally, top with whipped cream.
