- 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup (light or dark)
- Loaf of French bread 1" thick slices
- 5 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1
In saucepan over medium-low heat, mix and melt 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark), 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), 2 tablespoons corn syrup (light or dark). While mixture melts, prepare baking dish, spraying with non-stick spray. Slice loaf of French bread into 1" thick slices.
Pour well blended butter sugar mixture. Arrange bread slices flat in butter-sugar mixture. In blender mix 5 eggs, 1-1/2 cups milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour this mixture over bread slices not mixing any area. Use all the mixture, the excess will be absorbed by the bread slices. Cover baking dish and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover and bake 30 minutes. Serve directly from baking dish.
